Apply to join The Wishing Well

Our main aim is to actively create and promote safespaces online, whether you wish a comfy corner to just stream quietly and cosily, or whether you wish to take an active stand against the social issues that press upon disabled and other marginalised content creators. We believe that both kinds of spaces have an important role, and wish to support and grow both, by supporting you!

If that's something you'd like to be a part of, please have a read of our Code of Conduct below, and then use the Apply button below, if you agree.

Code of Conduct

  • How we run our communities:
  • 1.1. Our community is built on respect and inclusion. We do not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or discrimination of any kind, or any other form of bigotry or harassment targeting someone's identity. Everyone deserves to create and participate safely, and we will support you in our ban-sharing channel by identifying toxic online contacts so they can be removed from your communities.
  • 1.2. In applying 1.1. as a Team, we stand against JK Rowling, Hogwarts Legacy and the Wizarding World universe or her other intellectual properties. Please remove and avoid any content from this within your streams, due to the racist, transphobic and anti-semitic views of the artist and the themes embedded in the Wizarding World.
  • 1.3. In applying 1.1. we've unfortunately had a situation where a viewer has continually cyber-stalked and harassed one of our team members, and have had to take a hard-line in requiring this user to be banned by the team. We hope never to need to add anyone else to this list, but remain committed to providing as much support as we can in dealing with toxic online contacts.
  • 1.4. We are unable to offer any direct financial support whether guaranteeing subs, bits, or cash tips, to or between team members. We encourage supporting each others' streams and events where you can, but ask that no member directly ask for financial support. This of course does not stop you from running a Ko-Fi, gofundme, stream-a-thon or any other kind of event on your socials / on your community, and sharing it in Discord under team-and-personal-events. We will try to re-post on socials from the team accounts to help you get the word out.
  • Generative AI ("GenAI"):
  • 2.1. Our stance on AI is that we should not play games using GenAI, or use any streaming tools or assets which require or enforce the use of GenAI within it, including in our assets, redeems, streaming software, bots, and so on.
  • 2.2. In recognition of the complexity of GenAI, together in our ethics-table Discord channel we will discuss the usage of GenAI in various games and streaming tools (e.g. FrostyTools), and decide as a team what our official stance is, on a case-by-case basis.
  • 2.3 We will vote as a team and take action as a team, and while some items reviewed may ultimately be considered ethical and/or responsible, other items will also be deemed unethical. In that case, we agree to act as a team, in boycotting and not promoting it.
  • General
  • 3.1. Further to the above, we also discuss unethical, predatory and/or harmful practices in gaming, and decide as a team if this too warrants a boycott. For example, Bigotry and racism in games such as in Mewgenics.

Note
This Code of Conduct is subject to change as we evolve and grow as a team. We are happy and want to hear from you if you want something discussed or included. We want to be able to have this team as a collective, where we work together, instead of us making these decisions for everyone else centrally. The Wishing Well wishes to reflect the best of all of us upon our communities and foster positive interactions not only within our communities but also between one another.
